Task 1b: Professional Communication Technologies

Technology itself is always developing and expanding. Today there are 2.6 billion smartphone subscriptions globally being used, these phones don't just text, call and allow you to play snakes and ladders but allow you to view the web as if your on your laptop, having an endless supply of apps and games at the touch of your hand. Communicating through technology is always altering and developing as more sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are being created. At the moment i'v just started to use Pinterest which is basically an app that holds thousand of photos from various categories, which you can pin and save into your own boards that you create you can then add friends and share your photos. It's basically like an inspiration app for crafts, design, recipes, nails, hair, clothing and crochet literally you name it and its on there. These style of apps above are what we call Web 2.0 which is basically interactive data, this style of data encourages communicate, information sharing and interacting with others. Unlike Web 1.0 where there is only limited interaction between users, this style of web is created more for an information portal such as the newspaper, TV, books, magazines and so on. Now the difference is with the newspapers and magazines and so on they have had to seriously shift forward with technology and enable people to be able to read their newspapers and magazines on their phones and tablets on the go. This now enables changes with the way they can exploit information, such as through a video of the live events. Recently was the Victoria Secrets fashion show and instead of writing a paragraph on it the Telegraph composed a short film of what they decided was the best parts. For me this shows how venerable in some ways as everything can be exploited onto the web just by pressing the enter button. I also think we are so fortunate to be able to grow with the technology around us and I'm excited to see what the future holds.
